I also make notes in order to convey information across. I find that physically and visually teaching them the cooking skills is effective as well. For example for the hands on folk I show them how to measure out flour and knead bread using my hands as a teaching aid. To teach any visual learners I use colour coding and pictures to help them to fully understand processes and so on.

It has a scale that hooks to my tablet or phone along with colored bowls. She can dump her ingredients a little at a time until she reaches the correct weight. The app tells her when she has put enough of each ingredient in, which color bowl to use and times mixing. Now at 5 she can make the dough for cookies or bread and only needs me to put things in or take them out of the oven. Highly recommend for parents that aren’t strong bakers themselves.
